Almost Human Ltd. is an independent Finnish game developer founded in the beginning of 2011 by four game industry veterans. They are best known for the Legend of Grimrock series, bringing a timeless old school dungeon crawling gameplay to the modern age.
Known for the very funny, confusing and very Finnish game My Summer Car.
Equal part car mechanic, and Finnish country side simulator, MSC is a permadeath game that took the streaming world by storm with its brutally in-depth gameplay, and hilarious quirks.
Bugbear Entertainment is an award-winning independent game developer best known for Ridge Racer Unbounded, FlatOut and the Rally Trophy games. They are currently working on Wreckfest for PC, XBOX ONE & PS4 (coming 2018).
Colossal Order is a privately owned Finnish game development studio, focusing on simulation and strategy games. For now, they have published three games; Cities in Motion, Cities in Motion 2 and Cities: Skylines.
Dream Loop Games is a small company with 12 employees, led by it’s co-founders. In late 2015, Dream Loop began actively campaigning to reform Finnish laws surrounding Crowdfunding. The same year they started a Kickstarted campaign for their upcoming game Challengers of Khalea. The game was supposed to be a combination of multiplayer online battle arena and turn-based tactics, but later changed into a tactical turn-based RPG inspired by Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem and other J-RPGs.
Reborn Games (Former: Fragment Production)
Reborn is a privately owned game studio, located in the growing hub of the Finnish game industry, Tampere. The company has experienced developers that have spent over 20 years working with video games. They’ve also worked on over 25 titles for mobile, consoles and PC. Reborn’s latest game is called Urban Empire, a city ruling strategy game.
Frozenbyte’s first original IP titles were Shadowgrounds and Shadowgrounds Survivors, but they are probably best known for the Trine series, which has sold over eight million copies world wide. Their number one priorities are both the quality of the games, as well as the well-being of their team, having tight deadlines and the financial side taking the backseat.
Mountain Sheep is an independent game studio, best known for developing Minigore. In 2010, they opened a second studio called Cornfox & Brothers Ltd. to co-develop the game Death Rally. According to them, they just “want to make fantastic games!”.
RedLynx (now a Ubisoft studio) is a multiplatform game development studio located in Vallilla. Among the popular Trials series, they have developed and published more than 100 games. Founded in 2000, they are one of the oldest studios in Finland with over 140 employees.
Remedy Entertainment (commonly referred to as simply Remedy) is a privately held developer of action computer games, game franchises and leading edge 3D game technology, based in Espoo. They are the crew behind Quantum Break, a title that is part game, part tv-show with famous actors such as Shawn Ashmore and Aidan Gillen.
Rovio Entertainment (or Rovio for short) started 2003 as a mobile game development studio, and the company has developed several award-winning titles for various mobile platforms. In 2009, Rovio released the casual puzzle game Angry Birds, that became a worldwide phenomenon from 2010 onwards. The franchise has since expanded to a variety of new business areas.
In the summer of 2010, Supercell was born. Back then, the founders had no idea what the company would become. They just knew they wanted to make great games that people would play for years. Now they have offices, not only in Helsinki, but also in San Fransisco, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai with over 230 employees.
